New Hope Community Development purchased this Westland, Michigan home through the NSI First Look program.
The new owner, who earns less than 80% of AMI, wrote a letter to the community buyer, and noted that since day one they were a pleasure to work with, and responded very quickly to the few items that came up on the city inspection and appraisal. In her letter she also wrote, “I would 100% recommend New Hope to anyone looking into their properties. Very professional, organized, and they remodel homes well.”
This single-family home was built in 1959 and has 1,100 square feet. New Hope replaced the driveway, sidewalk and the front porch, they replaced the roof, repaired the bricks and mortar, installed new windows, and added a new HVAC system. They also applied fresh paint throughout, replaced the interior doors, refinished the hardwood flooring, installed new siding, soffits, trim, and gutters, installed new cabinets, remodeled the bathrooms with new vanities, toilets and plumbing fixtures, installed new tile flooring, and even refreshed the landscaping. More than $40,000 was spent on this project.
Westland is about 16 miles west of downtown Detroit, and is known for having an abundance of parks and bike trails. The average sales price in the city is $127,000 according to Zillow.
