A young couple with two children are so excited to be living in this newly-renovated home. He is a veteran and first responder. She wrote a letter to From House to Home, Inc., the NCST community buyer, and said this Maryland home is in the neighborhood she has liked since she was a little girl, plus her best friend lives up the street, and the home is only a block away from their favorite park.
From her letter: I feel like this house was created into a home just for us. The details and quirks of the home are very much our style. It’s clean and modern, yet warm and homey. I know we will enjoy it for many years to come. From cookouts on the deck to snuggling near the fireplace, it is home. I can’t wait to get settled in and live our lives there and watch our children grow up there.
This home was vacant for about a year, and three different neighbors expressed to From House to Home, Inc. how happy they were with the work being done. They put more than $70,000 in to the rehab of the home with inside renovations including three fully renovated bathrooms – one on each level, including a new master bedroom suite upstairs, and a new bedroom and bath in the basement. The kitchen was renovated including a new appliance package, along with new countertops, plumbing fixtures and recessed lighting.
They also repaired drywall and applied fresh paint throughout, added new carpeting and refinished hardwoods, painted interior doors and replaced the hardware, inspected and repaired all plumbing and ensured it’s up to current plumbing codes, inspected and repaired the HVAC, electric panel, and all outlets, plus installed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
On the exterior, they repaired and reglazed windows, repaired the existing roof, painted the exterior including the shutters, power washed all siding and concrete, repaired the existing deck, installed new exterior lighting, and then refreshed the landscape, including trimming the large trees and bushes.
