Founders

NCST offers a unique blend of policy expertise and on-the-ground experience working with local partners to eliminate the blight caused by vacant and foreclosed properties and severely delinquent mortgages in distressed communities.

Our founding sponsors include:

Enterprise’s mission is to create opportunity for low- and moderate-income people through affordable housing in diverse, thriving communities. We are driven by our mission, fueled by business discipline and sustained by donors and investors. Since 1982, Enterprise has worked with partners in communities nationwide.

Housing Partnership Network is a member-driven business collaborative of 100 of the nation’s leading housing and community development nonprofits. It was founded by a new breed of entrepreneurial nonprofit that combines social mission with private enterprise to develop solutions to the most challenging problems facing our country.

Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) helps resident-led, community-based development organizations transform distressed communities and neighborhoods into healthy ones – good places to live, do business, work and raise families. LISC provides capital, technical expertise, training and information to support the development of local leadership.

NeighborWorks America is a national nonprofit created by Congress in 1978 to provide financial support, technical assistance, and training for community-based revitalization efforts. NeighborWorks creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities by generating significant investment in thousands of underserved communities.

The National Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based organization devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. NUL spearheads the non-partisan efforts of over 100 local affiliates, providing direct services to more than 2 million people, and includes a focus on economic development/workforce issues, homebuyer education and resident empowerment to support neighborhood stabilization.

Since 1968, UnidosUS—formerly known as NCLR—has remained a trusted, nonpartisan voice for Latinos. We serve the Hispanic community through our research, policy analysis, and state and national advocacy efforts, as well as in our program work in communities nationwide. And we partner with Affiliates across the country to serve millions of Latinos in the areas of civic engagement, civil rights and immigration, education, workforce and the economy, health, and housing.
