A National Guard veteran and his wife are now the owners of this Georgia home purchased through the NSI First Look program. NCST community buyer, Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, Inc. (ANDP), offers a Veteran Program to meet the housing needs of veterans in their region. ANDP offers safe, newly renovated homes that are priced affordably, and also offers down payment assistance to qualified veteran buyers.
“We’re pleased to offer affordably priced homes to our veteran families. Our veterans have honorably served our country, and this is our opportunity to serve them by helping them achieve homeownership,” said John O’Callaghan, president and CEO of ANDP. “The homes in this program are fully renovated, move-in ready, and we offer homebuyer assistance to support closing costs and principal reduction for qualified buyers.”
Qualification parameters for the ANDP Veterans program include that the veteran must qualify for a mortgage by an approved lender, make the purchased home their primary residence, complete a HUD-approved home buyer education course, and meet HUD income qualifications.
ANDP spent more than $39,000 to renovate this home which includes a complete new HVAC system, new water heater, all new windows, and plumbing repairs. Exterior repairs included replacing damaged siding, painting the exterior, repairing the deck, adding security lighting, removing dead trees, and refreshing the landscape.
Inside, sheetrock repairs were made, fresh paint was applied throughout, new flooring was installed including carpet, vinyl flooring, and wood flooring, new lighting fixtures and ceiling fans were installed, new plumbing fixtures, sinks, cabinets, and countertops were installed in the kitchen and bathrooms, and a full appliance package including refrigerator, dishwasher, range, and built-in microwave was installed.
